Unlike men (and cats!) women feel a great discomfort when they have facial hair growing, and unlike men again, our facial hair isn’t coarse where we can simply use shaving cream and blades to clear it off. For us it’s different. Why we get it? Well, there are a lot of reasons. Some could be genetic reasons or hormones or even negligence that when the hair became more troublesome, then only attention was paid on it. However, whatever the reason it may be, there are several methods of removing this facial hair. Here, I will highlight three common ways.
Laser Hair Removal
A laser beam is projected over the skin especially where there is hair growth. This helps to kill or burn out the cells that contribute to hair growth. Once these cells are destroyed, the hair stops growing. Usually the laser hair removal treatment goes on for duration of six to eight times so that the follicles are completely stopped from growing hair. The advantage of this procedure is, it can help to reduce or even permanently stop hair from growing.
For every advantage there are sometimes disadvantages that need to be put in for consideration. In laser treatment, two things that pan out are the cost and the duration of the procedure. Nevertheless, do consult a dermatologist before deciding on this procedure.
Threading
Threading unlike other procedures has been one beauty option that has been there for centuries. Women all over the world, especially in Asia have endured this type action to come up with those perfect eye brows and even that clean look on the face. Unlike laser hair removal, threading is not only a quick way of removing hair, but also a safe mode that can be done without disrupting the cells on the face. It can be done on any skin type and can take out even the tiniest hair. Each pore, each strand of hair is given into more detail and the outcome is perfect.
Of course the procedure is cheaper and faster. The only thing to deal with is the after math of the procedure because for at least two hours, the skin will turn red but other than that, it is the safest practice anyone can go for or give a try.
Waxing
This is another simple and effective procedure. Before starting, the face has to be covered with a towel soaked in warm water for at least 10 minutes. This helps to open the pores and avoid skin irritation after the procedure. A sticky wax is then spread over the face where the desired hair needs to be removed. Then it’s covered with strips of cloth (usually cotton). Once the wax dries off, the strips are pulled off quickly taking the hair with them. Another process involves only wax that does not need any cloth, just after it dries off, it can be taken out. This procedure lasts for a month and sometimes more. Like treading, it is cheap, fast and convenient as well.
Any hair removal process has an after sensation that causes bumps or redness on the skin. To avoid further skin irritation, there are several home remedies that can be used. There is an application of cold water after any type of hair removal procedure or antibacterial cream. This helps to clear the redness and get the skin back to its normal glow. A word of advice of course, before trying anything related to removing facial hair, try to do your homework. Try to study and understand each procedure, its pros and cons. Either way, you will learn a lot and that will help to decide which process suits you. Of course the factor about hormones and skin type is also important to be considered, but it shouldn’t stop you from learning and trying something. As long as it benefits you, and has no side effects on your skin, then trying something has no harm in it.
