When eyelashes don’t seem to curl up and the eyelash curlers can’t help, there is another option we women sometimes tend to overlook. Eyelash extensions and the evolution of keeping a fuller lash from temporary lashes to permanent lashes.
Anything and everything about eyelashes have been a popular phenomenon over the years. Many mascaras and tips have stormed the internet showing how to get the most of curling your lashes. What about the times when you are not wearing any mascara? There are some days you are in a hurry and have no time to curl them, so what do you? Well, to ease you up a bit, I would like to share that somethings can be done. And the answer is eyelash extension. Here I would like to share basic information of what eyelash extension is all about, especially to show you how perfectly safe and long lasting it is!
Do Your Research
I cannot emphasize this enough. Yes there are many stories out there that talk about the horror of eyelash extension, but the number one reason that happens, is because the person doesn’t actually do her research. It might be simple to know that, you are on a salon chair, and the saloon personal puts glue on your eyelids and places the lashes and that’s it. Well actually no, knowing how the procedure goes, or knowing what glue is used, how long it lasts, the dos and don’ts after extension, benefits a lot.
Besides learning about the procedure, study a bit of your own lashes. Are your lashes naturally long or they have no shape? Are they short or thin? You will be surprised to know that there are different kind of extensions that can be used for different types of eyelashes. And based on the amount of lashes you already have, you can decide how many more you want to add.
This is because there are prices for each set of lashes. Some sets come in 20s or 40s. Depending on the amount of lashes, the eyelash extensions cost ranges from 40$ to 300$. For example, a set of 20 to 30 lashes can cost 65$, and a full set of lashes that would be 50 to 70 can cost 300$.
Also look into what the lashes are made out of. There are different types of materials the lashes are made of and it’s good to know if these substances give you an allergy reaction. Lashes basically come in a number of forms and the most popular are synthetic eyelashes, silk eyelashes and mink eyelashes. Each of these eyelash extensions cost from 55$ to 100$, from 100$ to 200$ and from 200$ to 300$ respectively. So here again I say, do your research!
Permanent Eyelash Extensions
This method can be used for beauty purposes, especially for those who don’t have many lashes on both eye lids. Surgically speaking, hair from the back of your scalp is taken and used on your eyelids. The range of hair consists of twenty to thirty; it is trimmed and curled to give it a more natural and elegant look. Of course when considering surgery for lashes, it doesn’t come cheap.
Eyelash Extensions Before and After
After you have decided what lashes, how many suit you, the next step is to go for it. Well, yes the procedure is long, it takes between one to up to nearly three hours. The beautician in charge has to glue one lash to one of your own lash. This is time consuming. And in order to make it easier, your eyes are to be closed at all times. Cotton pads will be placed on your lower lashes so that the glue doesn’t get stuck on them. It could be difficult to stay still for more than an hour, but during this duration, you can simply use the opportunity to take a nap. Leave the eyelash arrangement to the beautician, after all he or she are professionals and you are not their first customers. Whatever the result is, the lashes are integrated with your own and it becomes natural. So when it falls off slowly among your natural lashes that is totally normal. But of course it won’t look so obvious that it is fake.
Aftercare
Now, the after care is the most important part, well it’s not very complicated either. Firstly, avoid water to touch your lashes for at least twenty four hours. This is so that the glue has enough time to dry up and the lashes have enough time to blend in with your own natural ones. When it comes to using make up, go for oil free make up, and even an oil free make up remover. And when it comes for mascara, well, use a water based one if necessary, but since you have the extension on, there is not really any need to put it in the first place. During bathing time, if possible, place swimming googles around your eyes, but if that is troublesome, it’s really okay. However when washing your face, make sure you are gentle and wipe it dry softly, especially on the lash area. And when you follow this, you will be able to maintain the eyelash extension for at least 4 to 8 weeks.
If you see what you like in these eyelash extension, and find it a hassle to do it every two months once, there are cosmetic surgeries that can give you permanent eyelash extension. Anyways, happy trying!
