Tired of changing day cream and night cream? Wondering how to keep your skin happy, healthy and slow in aging? Here are five simple but effective tips you can use to have smooth flawless skin.

The Basics of Skin

The skin is the largest organ in the body. And the most important organ that protects and covers us from any harm. It keeps you cold or warm when necessary. That is why, it is very important to always take good care of your skin on a daily basis. Well, bathing and constant cream applying is not enough to avoid it from getting dry or rough. Here are five tips that can help you have healthy skin in no time.

1. Protect yourself from the sun

Protect skin from the sun with umbrella!

This is the most fundamental things you can do to protect your skin, especially from getting dry too fast. As age catches up and neglecting of skin care, constant sun exposure will cause it to wrinkle fast, followed by other kinds of skin problems. Direct sunlight will also lead to the risk of skin cancer.

So if you need to go out, or work outdoors, always use a good sunscreen lotion, especially that, which has SPF 15 or more. When it comes to clothes, try to cover yourself with long sleeves and long pants or skirts. Even having a good laundry detergent that gives clothes an extra layer of UV protection is an added benefit. These special detergents will enable the clothes to block UV rays and also maintain the fabrics color and size from fading or stretching. And if you are planning to visit the beach for a swim, you have to continuously apply more for at least one to two hours to avoid getting sunburn.

2. Smoking

Smoking leads not only to various incurable diseases, it also has a negative impact on the skin. What it does is, it slims down the blood vessels that are right under the skin, reducing the blood flow. When there is not enough blood flow under the skin, not much oxygen can help to maintain the health of the skin. Smoking has also been proven to damage the strands that give skin its strength and softness. Now, smoking may be hard to stop immediately, however it can be done as there are plenty of tips and ways to quit.

3. Smartphone

Yes, you read it right. Recent researches have concluded that there are more germs on our smartphones than on toilets. The touch screens have an easier tendency to spread germs and bacteria. We touch the screen, we hold it to our ears, we speak on it. All this has great potential to collect and spread germs. And once these germs and bacteria land on our skin, it causes rashes and irritation. To avoid skin getting tampered, get into the habit of using antibacterial wipes to clean your smartphones frequently.

4. Eat Right

There can be a million external ways to take care of skin. But having a proper well balanced diet can give your skin a beautiful glow and strengthen it as well. So, every time you eat make sure you have lots of fruits and vegetables on your plate. The best food out there for great skin is broccoli, oranges and anything that has vitamin C. Food enriched with vitamin C can help improve the texture of the skin and cause wrinkles to develop late. Even if you get wounded, the recovering rate of the skin will be faster too. If eating vegetables and fruits can be difficult, then try to get vitamin C supplements and consume it on a daily basis. You will soon notice a huge difference in your skin in no time. Besides vitamins, drinking plenty of water is also essential. It will help keep the skin constantly hydrated. You don’t like the taste of water? Well, add in a slice of lemon or any other desired fruit and continue drinking at least 8 to 9 glasses of water a day.
